Military Tracker Training:
Track Aware - "A Lesson in Observation". This is the novice level where core observation skills are developed. On completion of this level, military personnel are able to identify and differentiate tracks, establish the direction of travel, and have dramatically enhanced their observation skills.
Level 1 - "Recognition and Response". This is the intermediate level where advanced tracking skills such as "cutting for sign" is introduced. Level one tracking teams are considered a force multiplier by field commanders. Trackers at this level can effectively trail and overtake their quarry as well as provide troop movement intelligence to command.
Counter Tracking - Triple "E" - Effective Escape and Evasion. Designed to compliment a SERE (survival, escape, resistance, evasion) program, the Northern Tracker Counter Tracking program provides military personnel with the knowledge and practical skills to evade dogs and trackers.

Perhaps even more important are the skills learned in tracker training that helps keep you and your team out of harms way. The observation skills developed will aid in identifying traps, ambushes, troop movements and potential threats before unplanned engagement with the enemy is unavoidable.
